BACKGROUND AND BIO

I was born in Maryland and my family moved around the world throughout my childhood. I have lived in Bangladesh, Paraguay, and Sri Lanka, and a handful of places around the U.S. (the picture is me and my sisters overlooking the Kuala Lumpur skyline).

Since high school I have been very active in high school debate, first as a competitor, then as a coach, and now as the director of curriculum for the Victory Briefs Institute. It was through debate that I confirmed my interest in ethics then philosophy more broadly.

I received my B.A. in philosophy from Wheaton College (the one in Illinois) and a PhD from FSU.

I have a wife and child (with a second child on the way).
